Dr. Thomas
Johnson is a Professor in the Department
of Environmental
and Radiological Health Sciences at
Colorado State University. His
research efforts are on uranium mining,
acute effects of ionizing
radiation, the effect of lasers on the
skin and cornea and laser safety
standards. Prior to attaining his current
position, he was an Assistant
Professor and Post Doctoral Fellow at the
Uniformed Services
University. He holds a BS from Southern
Illinois University, an MBA
from the University of Illinois, an MS in
Environmental Engineering
from Northwestern University and PhD in
Health Physics from Purdue
University. He has worked in consulting,
electric generating plants,
and hospitals. He was a nuclear power
plant operator on the fast attack
submarine USS Cavalla. He also served as a
reservist in the USAF.
Additionally, he is a Certified Health
Physicist, Certified Laser
Safety Officer and Registered Radiation
Protection Technologist.
